APPLE VALLEY LITTLE LEAGUE
Purpose
Apple Valley Little League home to both Apple Valley American LL and Apple Valley National LL. Apple Valley LL is devoted to guiding the youth of Apple Valley to success through teaching of Little League's fundamentals: character, courage, and loyalty. We also strive to ingrain what it means to have teamwork and participate in fair play. Our hundreds of volunteers use the games of baseball and softball to teach these and more characteristics. Players are also taught the fundamentals of either baseball or softball and provide the necessary tools to each player to ensure they have success.

History
Apple Valley LL started playing in 1957 and has been chartered with Little League International since 1967. On May 30th, 1957, the Lions Club dedicated two baseball fields behind the community center on Navajo Road. Later that year, Newton T. Bass threw out the first pitch. That year, the Lions Club raised $7,000 to pay for the bleachers, backstops, sprinklers, and grass. Just about a year later on May 22, 1958, Apple Valley Little League's first night game was scheduled for June 2nd at 7 p.m. The game put the Apple Valley Kiwanis, managed by Pep Proulx against the Apple Valley Salesman, managed by Dr. Gilliland. During that time, teams used the name of local sponsors as their team names. Through the years, the league has celebrated many wins during district, regional, sectional, and state tournaments in both baseball and softball. For over 60 years, we continue to provide a wholesome and fun family environment for youth of Apple Valley and beyond.
